Aarti Awasthi is the CEO of Artsybug LLC- an organization that promotes contemporary Indian Visual Art. The portfolio includes artists like Souza, B.D. Gupta, Dandekar, Jagdish Dey, Sidharth, Santhanraj, Rajiv Lochan, just to name a few! The company was founded in 2001 and has hosted various artists & art shows to further its mission of “promoting Art & artists, as a whole!” Aarti believes, that “by promoting art we promote our society”. Today Artsybug has alliances with over 100 senior Indian artists /Indian art galleries. Aarti Awasthi served in the San Jose Arts Commission as it’s vice chair and the chairperson for its Programs Committee till Dec ‘08. She is on the City Hall Décor Committee for the city of San Jose. Aarti Awasthi also serves as a PDC member for the Harker school. Aarti Awasthi had formal training in the Fashion industry @ nift, New Delhi (collaborative of UNO, FIT, New York & Govt. of India) & @Esmod, Paris. She presented her clothing line at FGI’s show in San Francisco. Since 2001, her efforts have been vastly devoted to the mission of supporting Indian artists. Aarti Awasthi lives in Saratoga with her husband and two children. “We represent a global family that form a silver lining in the fabric of our country, with our roots originating in India, but our beliefs and the foundation of our family that are Made in America”.
Aarti sees the need for art to propagate creativity in the technical Industry- the seed to innovation in the Bay Area. As a Board member of Zero1, she sees a realization of her belief in its vision.
