Andrea (Andy) Cunningham, Founder and Chair

Andrea (Andy) Cunningham is chairman and CEO of CXO Communication, a privately-held strategic communication consultancy focused entirely on matters critical to corporate officers and their teams. Based in Palo Alto , Calif. , the firm creates and executes communication strategies that enhance executive and corporate profiles. She recently completed the term of non-executive chairman and CEO of Citigate Cunningham, a public relations agency she founded in 1985. During her time at its helm, she provided counsel for some of the leading, history-making brands in the tech industry.

Andy sits on the following for-profit boards: InMomentum, Inc. and 1185 Design; and the following non-profit boards: The Aspen Institute, The Computer History Museum, ZeroOne, the Art and Technology Network. She is also a member of the advisory boards of Specialized Bicycle Components, the Foundation for Student Communication at Princeton University and the Journal of Integrated Communications at Northwestern University and is a member of the Arthur W. Page Society.

She serves on the Committee of 200, America’s Women Business Leaders, and was a key force behind the Helsinki Business Women’s Leaders Summit, a program spearheaded by the U.S. State Department. She also founded and is chairwoman of ZeroOne, the Art and Technology Network, a charitable organization that is dedicated to fostering the collaboration between artists and technologists.

Previously, Andy served two years on the Board of Citigate, Inc., which is responsible for all Incepta Group investment in North America . Andy served on the Council of PR Firms Board from 2000-2003 and was named a 1998 Henry Crown Fellow. She has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the YPO International Board of Directors for three years, on the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Pacific Regional Board and as the 1998/99 chapter chairman for the YPO Northern California Chapter.
Andy received a B.A. in English from Northwestern University and currently lives in Palo Alto and Pine Mountain Lake, Calif., with her husband, Rand Siegfried, and their two children.
