G. Craig Hobbs, Technical Producer

G. Craig Hobbs is the Technical Producer of the 2010 01SJ Biennial. Hobbs is an artist, writer, and filmmaker specializing in large-scale projection and interaction design for art and architecture. He received his BFA from California Institute of the Arts and his MFA from the Digital Arts and New Media program at University of California Santa Cruz.

Hobbs is currently a Research Associate and Lecturer at the University of California Santa Cruz and teaches in the Critical Studies program at California College of the Arts. He is the recipient of a 2009-2010 University of California Institute for Research in the Arts (UCIRA) Emerging Fields grant for his thesis research on open-source metadata. Hobbs theoretical writing focuses on issues of embodiment, affect, time, and space in digital art and culture, and has been presented at Harvard University and DAC09: Digital Arts and Culture 2009 at UC Irvine. He recently premiered his science fiction short film Solatrium at the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival.
