ZERO1 has ceased operations at the Garage in San Jose as of July 1st, 2015 so as to focus attention on transforming the organization to better leverage our core capacity and expertise. Continued presence in the Garage in the current explosive real-estate economy and funding ecosystem is simply not sustainable.
As this transformation evolves, ZERO1 will be in discussion with partners to identify new venues appropriate to future needs. While this news is bitter sweet, ZERO1 is at its core dynamic and adaptable. It's now more important than ever for us to walk the walk associated with risk-taking, creativity, incubation, and innovation.
The Garage in San Jose was truly an amazing space to incubate and premiere innovative year-round programming. These initiatives will serve as the foundation upon which ZERO1’s future will be designed. Signature artistic programs including the biennial, fellowship program, exhibitions and public art initiatives, and "In Conversation" talk series will continue. We are also planning for an inaugural 2016 Creative Explorers Summit, envisioned as an annual gathering of artists and thought leaders to address a specific thematic, challenge or contemporary condition leading to new forms of artistic achievement.
We look forward to continuing our work with arts, science and technology communities to grow ZERO1 as a premier Silicon Valley and Bay Area arts organization.
