SoS was made by Afnan Hammad. It is a reflection of the humans bad effect on nature, especially water sustainability, and how these impacts influence the human itself. Everything is connected.

This work in its current version highlights the issue of desertification. Three videos shown are projected onto three cut, separate body parts. The human face has a video with puzzles that crack toward the chest, describing the problem and highlighting how humans are connected with nature and dying slowly with its suffering. In the next video, a hand signs the three letters (S-O-S) in sign language, the abstract for ‘Save Our Souls’ which signifies the call for help by silent nature to be rescued by humans. The final video shows blood dripping to indicate that these parts are bleeding.

I got inspired by the field trip to "The Jordan National Gallery Of Fine Arts" with the idea of art pieces that hang from the ceiling. I focused on thinking that the human is the main reason of the problem and he has the solution for it, so I immersed all thoughts I had in these parts of human.

I hope to develop this project and have more than three parts, adding a recorded sound of nature mixed with touching vocals.
